Spiders spawns can be disabled by enabling Arachnophobia Mode in the Custom World Settings menu inside an Open World or Prospect. This settings menu is available by pressing Escape while in a Prospect and is not part of the general Settings menu. If your save was created before the Week 211 update, the Arachnophobia Mode must be specifically disabled for the creatures to start spawning. All new saves will have Arachnophobia Mode disabled by default and the setting can be toggled on or off at any time in the Custom World Settings menu.
